Walter E. Browne, president of the Arkansas Retail Hardware Dealers Association, left Conway for Des Moines, Iowa, where he would attend the annual national convention of hardware dealers. He would also visit the World's Fair at Chicago while on the trip.

The Walton Family Foundation has made a donation of $3,147 to the Faulkner County Single Parent Scholarship Fund. The gift was announced at the Arvest Bank branch on College Street in Conway. Eliesha Wolverton and Kelli Smith of Arvest Bank were on hand as representatives of the foundation to present the check.
