SAN ANTONIO The University of Texas at San Antonio got a career-high 23 points from John Mark Ludwick and overcame an outstanding effort by the University of Central Arkansas guards on Thursday night in taking a 81-77 victory before a Fox Sports Southwest television audience.

Education was the program topic of the March 18 meeting of the Faulkner County Retired Teachers Association, which was held at the First Baptist Church on Robinson Avenue in Conway.

Some familiar administrators have become candidates for director of athletics at the University of Central Arkansas.

These children are meant to be seen -- and heard. They are the voices of the Central Arkansas Children's Choir and they can be heard throughout the year at various events around Central Arkansas.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stafford of San Antonio, formerly of Conway, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Sherry Dawn Stafford, to Charles Morgan Roberts Jr. of Austin, Texas. Mr. Roberts is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roberts Sr. of El Paso, Texas.

Athletic Director Bill Stephens has announced his intention to retire in January. UCA President Dr. Winfred L. Thompson has formed a search committee, headed by Dr. Roy Whitehead (the faculty-athletic representative).
